Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born to British parents Jacqueline Luesby, a lawyer and Chris Watson, a teacher from Paris, France. The couple made the move to Oxfordshire at the age of five, where she attended the Dragon School. Emma began to realize when she was just six that she wanted to become an actor. Over the course of several years, she studied at the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch which was where she learned dancing, singing, acting as well as other. By the time she reached the age of 10 she was performing and taken the lead in several Stagecoach productions as well as school productions. The casting process started for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (192001), the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s bestselling novel. Casting agents came across Emma through her Oxford theater teacher. Emma's debut on the screen was when the film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It was also the highest-rated film of the year in terms of weekend and opening-day sales. Critics praised the film and the performance of its young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a British newspaper that is widely published, described Emma's performance as "admirable." Emma received the Young Artist Award as Leading Young Actress in a feature Film and was nominated to win five more awards. Emma was one of the most famous actors after the success of the film. Hermione Granger continued to be her role for nearly ten years in the Harry Potter films. Emma acquired two Critics' Choice Awards nominations from the Broadcast Film Critics Association for her role in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban and Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.
